ADAMAWA SAGA: Security Agents On The Trail Of Ex-Governor Nyako

Reports emanating from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, suggest that security agents stormed the Asokoro, Abuja residence of the impeached Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, to effect his arrest few hours after he was sacked by members of the state House of Assembly.
However, it was gathered that Nyako, whose security aides were withdrawn at about 1pm shortly after his impeachment, was said to be absent at his Abuja residence when the security operatives arrived to arrest him.
According to Abusidiqu.com, a source close to the governor informed that: “Some plain-clothe security agents came to look for Nyako but he had left his Asokoro residence.
“These agents were looking so desperate to effect his arrest in connection with a letter he wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan on the security situation in the North, especially Northeast.
“The plot is to arrest him and arraign him for sedition.”

He explained that the excessive use of power is not good for decent democratic practice, saying triumphalism in the suppression of opponents is a bad omen for democracy.
According to PM report, Atiku decried the use of impeachment to settle scores by the PDP-led federal government, saying the the frequency with which elected officials were being removed from office by impeachment would destroy the whole purpose of inserting the impeachment clause in the Constitution, adding that it could not have been the intention of the framers of the 1999 Constitution.

Amaechi was speaking at the thanksgiving celebration of former Council Chairman of Khana Local Government Area Gregory Nwidam on July 13, 2014, Sunday.
Amaechi revealed that the FG did not want to implement the United Nations Environmental Protection Agency (UNEP) report on Ogoniland, this bothered his steadfast aim to make his region habitable for his citizens.
Amaechi in a candid state said: “After the verification and recommendation by the Agency to the Federal Government, they have refused to release the sum of One million dollars for the clean-up and development of the area. As I am talking to you today, the Federal Government is doing nothing about the UNEP report.
"One million dollars is about 160 billion naira, but the Federal Government has been spending billions in other places. But, you need to ask yourselves one question, what did Ogoni do against the Federal Government that they cannot release 160 billion naira to save your environment. That is the reason I left PDP for APC, because, our interest is not protected in PDP.
