Young Money rapper, Lil Wayne has decided to
follow in the footsteps of millionaire businessman and rapper, Jay Z by
starting his own sports management agency.
To show he is ready for business, he has signed his first client, The World’s Biggest football Star……….C ronaldo
Beyond rapping, Lil Wayne has ventured into
clothing, accessories, and a number of other business ventures — not to
mention a label presidency. And now he’s expanding his empire once
again,
See how TMZ reports it: -
Usually in the rap industry, if one guy
does it, everyone else soon follows. That’s even the case for Jay Z’s
recent venture into the world of sports management, as another rapper
has now entered the race.
Weezy has partnered with PolarisSports,
an affiliate of CAA and GestiFute. Wayne will reportedly handle all of
Ronaldo’s marketing and endorsement deals in the United States.
Earlier yesterday, Ronaldo tweeted a photo of himself with the Prime Minister of Japan holding up the Young Money sign.
“My homie Christiano Ronaldo got the
President of Japan throwing up Young money! He too real 4dat! Young
Muulah baby!” Lil Wayne tweeted.
Lil Wayne Starts A Sports Management Company, Signs Soccer Star Cristiano Ronaldo
From hip-hop, to skateboarding, to soccer; Lil Wayne has got it all covered. According to TMZ,
Weezy has started a new sports management company and has signed the
world’s biggest soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo, as his first client. The
decision to make his first client an international one is a risky
endeavor as Wayne will have to tap into a new market and demographic in
Europe.
Wayne will apparently handle Ronaldo’s
endorsements, marketing, branding and more. Ronaldo is a marketing
machine and earned $22 million in endorsements last year, making him the
highest paid soccer player in the world. The new sports management
company will work with PolarisSports—which is affiliated with CAA
Sports—the group that handled the contract negotiations for Jay Z’s Roc
Nation Sports.
Ronaldo is yet to confirm the signing but
did release a picture of himself and the Prime Minister of Japan
throwing up the YMCMB sign on Twitter:
Who’s Has The Better Sports Agency? Jay Z or Lil Wayne
The news of Lil Wayne throwing his hat into
sports management
by starting an agency and partnering working with PolarisSports—which
is affiliated with the CAA agency and GestiFute—was very surprising. The
Young Money Mogul made a huge splash by signing international soccer
superstar
Cristiano Ronaldo.
Of course the comparison was immediately made to Jay Z’s Roc Nation
Sports. They have been in operation for over a year and continue to sign
top talent. But when you compared who’s better equip to head a sports
agency, who’s better?
Check the breakdown below.
Sports Knowledge
Edge: Wayne
Lil Wayne is a notorious sports buff. The NOLA spitta has been a
frequent guest on ESPN. Seriously, he’s been on ESPN’s First Take
discussing everything in sports like the
NBA Finals,
Kevin Durant,
NCAA College Final Four,
The Green Bay Packers and
Tim Tebow. That’s not even counting his time on
Around The Horn and his
one-on-one with Randy Moss.
He’s a huge L.A. Lakers, Green Bay Packers and boxing fan. Wayne
literally only tweets when he’s watch sports. Weezy has also penned for
ESPN Magazine and on their website. Even though Jay Z was part owner The
Brooklyn Nets and was huge influence on the franchise, slight lean goes
to Lil Wayne when it comes to sports knowledge.
Network
Edge: Jay Z
Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s network is massive. Forbes ranks him
No. 6 among “the most powerful” celebrities
in the world. He has grown his Roc Nation empire into a force,
currently has numerous business ventures and is worth $520 million.
Anything Jigga wants, he has access too.
Biggest Signing
Edge: Wayne
Yes Hov’s Roc Nation Sports has signed a plethora of talented
superstars—Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant, Victor Cruz and Skylar
Diggins—but Lil Wayne’s signing of Portugal and Real Madrid superstar
Cristiano Ronaldo is massive. Ronaldo is one of the most marketable and
recognizable sports star in the world. Forbes named Ronaldo
the 30th “most powerful” celebrity
in the world and seventh among athletes, just edging Kevin Durant. He
is without a doubt the biggest star in professional futbol and his fame
only continues to grow after the World Cup.
Experience
Edge: Jay Z
Jay Z clearly has the edge over Weezy when it comes to experience in
the sports industry. Roc Nation Sports has been around for over a year
and doing extremely well, young new stars from the NFL, NBA and MLB. Hov
was also apart of the ownership team for the Brooklyn Nets. He knows
what he’s doing.
Who would you choose?

July 24th, 2014 at 6:43 pm Can these rappers quit copying each other and do something original… JayZ starts sports agency now everybody else doing it… Have a seat Wayne…
If these rappers were really smart they’d invest in some of these start up companies (ex: BEATS) … We see how Dr.Dre turned out… But I guess

July 24th, 2014 at 8:06 pm Oh how original. A sports agency. It’s already been done you little missing link looking idiot.
July 24th, 2014 at 8:18 pm Beauty and The Beast.
July 24th, 2014 at 8:39 pm JAY Z is the blueprint.
July 24th, 2014 at 8:47 pm It’s funny how pp are calling him a follower, but I’ve never heard of Jay-Z on ESPN or any sports network, ever (please correct me if I’m wrong). Wayne, on the other hand, is a huge sports fan and has appeared on many sport shows including First Take, Sports Center, NFL Countdown, and even has his on sports blog which he’s been doing for a few years now. The difference between the two is, Jay-Z is doing it solely for business with little, wayne is more passionate about sports and then it’s business. Just my opinion.
July 24th, 2014 at 10:08 pm y’all hatin’ Wayne just signed Cristiano … aka one of the biggest athletes in the world, much bigger then anyone on JayZ’s lineup
July 24th, 2014 at 10:32 pm cool.

Lil Wayne launches sports agency, signs Cristiano Ronaldo as first client
Weezy has partnered with PolarisSports, an affiliate of CAA and GestiFute. His first client? International soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Wayne will reportedly handle all of Ronaldo’s marketing and endorsement deals in the United States.
Ronaldo celebrated news on his Twitter account:
Lil Wayne Becomes a Sports Agent, Signs Soccer's Cristiano Ronaldo
Weezy will reportedly oversee player's marketing, endorsement, and modeling deals
Dan Reilly
Yeah, it sounds far-fetched, but the details come off as pretty legit: "We're told Weezy's company will be working with PolarisSports — which is affiliated with the CAA agency and GestiFute — through which Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes operates." Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports is also affiliated with CAA, though unlike Hova, Wayne and co. will be working on Ronaldo's marketing, endorsement, and modeling deals as opposed to his athletic contracts.
Still don't believe it? Well, Ronaldo himself offered a bit of confirmation yesterday when he tweeted a photo of himself, the Japanese Prime Minister, and a bunch of others throwing up the YMCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires) sign. Wayne tweeted the Real Madrid star's photo, too, writing, "My homie Christiano Ronaldo got the President of Japan throwing up Young money! He too real 4dat! Young Muulah baby!"
This is the world we live in, folks. Cherish it.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lil Wayne set to team up after rapper starts his own sport management company
The Ballon d'Or winner is reported to be Lil Wayne's first client
The World Cup saw football (or ‘soccer’) sweep the United States, largely thanks to the impressive showing in Brazil by Team USA, and it now seems that Ronaldo is ready to tap into that interest in order to expand the global brand that is CR7.
According to celebrity news website TMZ.com, Ronaldo will link up with his friend Lil Wayne – real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – after the New Orleans rapper started his own sports management company.
Ronaldo appeared to give the seal of approval on the deal, as he posted a picture on his Twitter account alongside Japanese Prime Minister and other politicians performing the Young Money/Cash Money sign, made famous by Lil Wayne and those on his record label.
